Art in the Valley was formed by IRVAC in 2008 due to the expansion and growth of our organization, in order to embrace and manage three programs that encompass the tenants of our Mission Statement: "To Enrich the Lives of the Residents of the Illinois Valley by Fostering Creativity and Providing Art Education and Art Experiences".

These three programs are: the popular and long held
Second Friday Artwalk, a Concert Series and a Community Lecture Series.

Our method for success as an organization has been to start small, methodically meet the artistic & cultural needs and desires of the community, thereby fulfilling the goals our Mission Statement.

Join Us! today and become a member of our vibrant and exciting organization. You too can support the Arts and help us to fulfill our Mission. The Arts are the common language of the world.

Second Friday ArtWalk

has been a successful program since it’s inception in 2000. We have a very informative and exciting page on this website detailing this program. Please visit it and enjoy the pictures and explanation of this cherished IRVAC program.

Concert Series

In 2009, IRVAC provided two outstanding concerts for the residents of our Southern Oregon valley. In June, "Live at Deer Creek Center" presented Symphonic, Wind Quintet, and Barbershop Quartet Music at the beautiful outdoor venue at the Siskiyou Field Institute. This late afternoon event provided a family oriented musical experience for a very minimal fee. IRVAC's December "Holiday Live at Lorna Byrne!" Concert program included Classical, Pop and Choral Music along with a variety of art activities and an opportunity to have pictures taken with Santa. Admission was free with donations accepted. Part of the IRVAC Mission is to make these events as affordable as possible.

Lecture Series

Our lecture series has been in progress for several years. Most lectures have been to benefit our membership at IRVAC meetings. The Oregon Department of Humanities Chatauqua lecture program has provided us with provocative perspectives on the arts. This coming year
we hope to extend this series.
